In this moving story of a child's visit with his mother, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Enid Solomon, captures the beautiful image of a child's bond with his mother and the heart-wrenching pain of separation as Toby tries to understand why he is unable to be with her. Sensitively written, this book is a must read for parents, children and anyone involved in the court system, CFS (Child and Family Services), foster care and the prison system; or anyone who works with families dealing with addiction, recovery, incarceration, and/or divorce.

Toby’s not sure what’s going to happen when he visits his mom. He’s not sure how he’s going to feel, he’s not sure what they might talk about, he’s not even sure when they are going to be able to live together again. What Toby does know is that for today, during the next few hours, he gets to spend time with his mom.

"Toby Visits Mommy” is a story about hope, disappointment, love, sadness, anger and joy. It’s about the love between a mother and her child and the pain of separation. It’s about the search for stability. And, finally, it’s about finding the courage to open up and talk about feelings. Join Toby as he visits his mom.
