A Popular Baby Gift for Keepsaking Baby Blankets, Blankie Keeper™ Launches “Meet My Blankie” Contest

Blankie Keeper™ knows that many children name their first or favorite blanket with a special moniker that means a great deal to them. To celebrate that, Blankie Keeper™ wants to Meet The Blankies!

Mister Bee. Teetee. Comfy Cuddly. These are just some of the names of baby blankets that happy customers have shared with Blankie Keeper. A popular baby gift, Blankie Keeper™ is asking everyone to share the name of his or her baby blanket to enter the “Meet My Blankie!” contest.

All who share their baby blanket’s name will be entered in a drawing to win a set of Blankie Keepers™ (small, medium and large). Drawing is scheduled for July 1, 2010. Blankie names submitted for the contest will be shared on Blankie Keeper’s blog (http://BlankieKeeper.blogspot.com).

“Usually when a child gives a name to an object, that object becomes a permanent fixture in that child’s life,” said Blankie Keeper™ inventor and mother of two Leslie A.M. Smith. “Blankie Keeper™ was developed wholly on that premise—children want to keep their favorite blankies. Children name their baby blankets all the time—they personify them, the baby blankets become like a friend. With a Blankie Keeper™ a child can keep his or her blankie forever.”

Blankie Keepers™ come in three sizes. Smith designed them to hold a small receiving blanket, a throw-size blanket, and a large Blankie Keeper™ that will hold a thick crib quilt.

“The baby blanket is just folded and then placed into the Blankie Keeper™,” Smith explained. “The blankie does not need to be altered at all. Once inside, the stuffed Blankie Keeper™ looks like a pillow.”

Smith founded Blankie Keeper™ in 2008 after making the product for her own daughter who did not want to give up her baby blanket even though it was shredded and coming apart in the wash.

“I think I made her a Blankie Keeper™ when she was four years old,” Smith shared. “She still sleeps with it and she’s 10 now.”

Visit http://BlankieKeeper.blogspot.com for information on where to send the name of the baby blanket (first or favorite), the parent’s name, child’s name and age, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address. The drawing will be held July 1, 2010. Entries due by June 30. One entry per person. The winner will be contacted to choose the fabric they want (available designs only--new fabrics coming in June).
