Case Furniture Gallery, a home furniture store in Vernon, offered a promotion in May to celebrate moms across the Okanagan. They gave people across the Okanagan area: Vernon, Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Armstrong, Enderby, Penticton, etc an opportunity to enter to win a seven day vacation for two. The winner would then get to choose from: Elkhorn Resort, Onanole; St Ives on Shuswap, Celista; Lake Okanagan Resort, Kelowna; Destinations at Panorama Resort, Panorama; Aviawest at Pinnacle, Sun Peaks; Holiday Park, Kelowna.

Case Furniture Gallery decided on a getaway contest for Okanagan mother’s because they wanted to give them a chance to get away. Jody felt this was especially important as summer is quickly approaching and many mom’s are going to have bored children out of school. Case Furniture Gallery made the draw in their Vernon furniture store on May 9th, announcing the winner Lori Mindnich. Lori came across the ad in the Vernon Morning Star and decided to enter herself into the competition. She did not think she would stand a chance at winning, so was very surprised to find out that she had won the trip.

When Lori found out she won she quickly texted her husband, Rich Richardson, telling him that she had won. She quickly received a text back saying “No, I won”. Confused, Lori responded saying that she had won the Case Furniture Gallery’s Mother’s Day contest. She then received a text asking “Who is this?”. After texting back to say that it was Lori the response of “Who?” made her realize that she had texted a complete stranger. Later that morning when she told Rich she had won they had a good laugh about the texts.

Lori will be whisking her husband away with her to enjoy this lovely vacation. They would like to stay somewhere close to home, but far enough away for some quality time together. Lori and Rich would like to stay at either the St. Ives on the Shuswap or the Lake Okanagan Resort in Kelowna. Their plan is to look into fall dates at the Lake Okanagan Resort.

Lori and Rich would like to thank Case Furniture Gallery for the wonderful getaway. They look forward to exploring closer to home while enjoying time alone.
