Chicago Author sells movie rights to 1st Novel

Native Chicagoan and psychologist, John E. Mayer, has just signed an Option Agreement with Producer/Director, Ryan Craig and PIE Productions (Hollywood, CA.) for Mayer's first novel, Shadow Warrior, to be made into a major motion picture. Mr. Craig's latest film, Small Town Saturday Night, starring Chris Pine (young Capt. Kirk, Star Trek) premieres May 23,2010.

"What I liked about the book and Mayer's writing was that the characters were approachable, real American people and the story was excellent. Any number of actors would be clamoring to play these roles," said Mr. Craig.

Writing as J.E. Mayer, Shadow Warrior is Mayer's 1st novel published in 2005 (AuthorHouse). Additionally, he has completed writing two other novels since. Mayer has also completed his first children's book, which is under consideration at SourceBooks Publishers (Naperville, IL) and Scholastic Books (Boston, MA) Mayer has also written many non-fiction books; his latest, Family Fit, arrived at Barnes & Noble stores in April.

Dr. John Mayer is a practicing clinical psychologist, author, lecturer and consultant of national acclaim.
