http://www.nbhhcm.org/ The NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) Foundation has received 14 Proclamations from major US cities around the country proclaiming June as NBHHCM 2010. The City of Baltimore became the first US city in June 2009 to proclaim the hoops and hip-hop cultural celebration last year. NBHHCM was founded in June 2009 to honor the 25th Anniversary (1984-2009) of the basketball & hip-hop culture fusion time-period born in 1984 that is known today as The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America, 1984-Present.
Joining Baltimore in June for NBHHCM 2010 are the cities of Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Memphis, Newark, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, Sacramento, and Washington D.C. (there are other cities that are pending).
June 1st of each year of NBHHCM has been selected as "US Mayor's Day." The NBHHCM Foundation wanted to honor all Mayor's around the country for their Proclamations and support for NBHHCM. June 1st US Mayor's Day,
June 4th David Stern Day, Mr. Stern has NBA Commissioner since 1984 the birth-year of the era.
June 10th Hip-Hop Radio Day, day dedicated to all hip-hop radio stations.
June 12th NBA Player's Day, day dedicated to the past, present, and future players of league.
June 16th Biggie & Tupac Day, day is dedicated to the 2 fallen icons that inspired an entire generation.
June 23rd Michael Jordan Day, day is dedicated to greatest and first star player of the era.
June 27th Old School Rap Day, day is dedicated to all old school rap songs and performers
June 30th 4 Elements of Hip-Hop Day, day is dedicated to the original 4 elements of hip-hop emceeing, djing, graffiti, and break dancing.
The NBHHCM Foundation will have a one-day 4 city Tip -Off Launch Tour on Tuesday June 1, 2010 that will officially start NBHHCM. The tour will travel from Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York. Members of the tour will do the "Rosin & Dynasty Sign Ritual" with residents of each city to Tip-Off NBHHCM. There will be a rap performance by the Dunkadelic MC's. Promotional items will also be given to city residents. The "Rosin & Dynasty Sign Ritual was inspired by the pre-game rosin toss of LeBron James and the dynasty sign used by Jay-Z that he has made popular at his concerts. LeBron and Jay-Z are the current 2 most influential figures to the hoops and hip-hop culture. Allen Iverson the troubled star of the Philadelphia 76ers is the all-time most influential person to the culture. The tour will stop in each city at time and locations below.
9:00 am - Washington D.C., Ben's Chili Bowl 1213 U Street NW
12:00 pm- Baltimore, MD, Baltimore City Hall 100 N. Holliday Street
3:00 pm- Philadelphia, PA, JFK Plaza/LOVE Park 16th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard
8:00 pm- New York, NY, NY Times Square (the NY prime time ritual will spark the rest of the country)
All residents of each city are welcomed to come and to participate in the historical "Rosin & Dynasty Sign Ritual" to launch NBHHCM 2010.
President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have written letters of appreciation to NBHHCM 2010. President Obama is an avid basketball fan.
The NBHHCM Foundation will hold a National Press Conference on the Launch Tour and NBHHCM 2010. The press conference will be held in Downtown Baltimore, Maryland at Maisey's Restaurant, 313 N. Charles Street on Wednesday June 2, 2010 for the local and national media at 1:00 pm. All of the NBHHCM 2010 Proclamations will be on display at the press conference.
