never underestimate that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world, in fact it is the only thing that ever has
Melbourne, FL (Vocus) June 2, 2010
In his newly released book, For a Better America: Observations, Insights, and a Plan for Action by a 95 Year Old American, Gene Di Cerbo discusses the challenges facing the people and the government, their root causes, and their solutions.
Steadfastly dedicated to the high ideal of true democracy and the great “American Experiment,” Mr. Di Cerbo urges the American people to apply Margaret Meade’s admonition “never underestimate that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world, in fact it is the only thing that ever has,” and to take back the government of the people, by the people and for the people described by President Lincoln.
At a time when America is facing some of the greatest challenges in its history, Congress often appears more interested in getting re-elected and catering to special interests than in addressing the needs of the people. The Land of Opportunity seems to have become the Land of Greed and Corruption.
Mr. Di Cerbo suggests the creation of a Citizens Commission with full powers of a grand jury to oversee the affairs of government, and a national referendum to ascertain the will of the people on issues that are dividing our country—including freedom of speech, separation of church and state, and religious liberty.
Born just eleven years after the Wright brothers’ first manned airplane flight and living his teenage years during the Great Depression, Mr. Di Cerbo has witnessed first hand almost a century of American history and provides a rare perspective on the state of America today.
For a Better America: Observations, Insights, and a Plan for Action by a 95 Year Old American is an engaging timely read, as well as a crucial guide for reforming America.
