Mobile campaign technologies enter the George State Senate races, allowing unprecedented outreach between campaigns and constituents.

“Special interests don’t have me in their pocket, you do.”

Josh McKoon (http://www.joshmckoon.com/) wants to engage the constituents of District 29 on an anytime, anywhere basis, and has just released an iPhone app to do just that. McKoon becomes the first Georgia State Senate candidate to release an iPhone app purpose built for transparency and community engagement. The app is free, and is available for download through Apple iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/josh-mckoon/id371478478?mt=8

The app shares McKoon’s campaign news, events, photos, YouTube videos and Twitter streams, providing his constituents with on-the-go information about McKoon’s activities and platform, and allows his supporters the ability to share this information using their own Facebook and Twitter accounts.

In addition, the app engages constituents through polls and surveys to capture the community pulse on issues important to the people of District 29, allowing McKoon to respond on a real-time basis to the most pressing issues of the day.

“Special interests don’t have me in their pocket, you do.” said McKoon. “Modern technology now allows people to engage me whenever and wherever they may be to make Georgia a better place, and I’m committed to applying good technology that meets the needs of the good people of Georgia’s 29th District.”

The application was developed by Purple Forge, (http://www.purpleforge.com) the award winning mobile application service provider who build both in-office and campaign constituent engagement applications for politicians in the US, Canada and the UK. Purple Forge's customers include Georgia Congressional candidate Liz Carter, Chuck DeVore (California), Tim Hudak (Canada) and the UK Independence Party.

"Josh has an excellent view of technology as a tool to improve constituent communications and transparency in state government," said John Craig, VP Sales and Marketing at Purple Forge. "His visionary commitment to social media and mobile technologies showcases his leadership and accountability towards the people of District 29"
