A charming and inspiring read will surely capture the hearts of its readers as author Albert C. Hicks presents The Magical Pond. Grandparents and grandchildren can now enjoy a delightful picture book about a grandfather-grandchild’s unforgettable bonding.
Fishing is a universal sport and has been enjoyed by the very young and the very old since time began, and with this sport springs the beautiful story of the author. The Magical Pond was written little by little over a nine-year period. Woven with simplicity and style, the reader will come to know and appreciate why the pond was so magical as it introduces them to Jess, one of the author’s six grandchildren. Written from the point of view of a grandfather, this story relates the memories and experiences of a grandfather watching his grandchild fish in the pond. Children can relate to Jess as she learns the finer points of fishing and setting the hook. Hicks allows the readers to see how Jess grew from a little three-year-old girl to a twelve-year-old, to whom the author leaves his philosophy.
Author Hicks has written many short stories and poems about all the grandchildren, but The Magical Pond is his favorite. Filled with love and intimate affection, readers will find the beauty of grandfather-grandchild bonding in this book. For more information on The Magical Pond, log on to Xlibris.com.
