Bag sealer manufacturer, PLEXPACK, receives favorable feedback from the redesign of the MPS 6000 series machines.

Since the redesign of the MPS 6000, we have received favorable feedback from our customers. Not only did we want to upgrade the machinery for customers to operate with a higher quality and reliability, but we wanted to make sure we were producing cost effective machines as well

PLEXPACK, manufacturer of bag sealing solutions and shrink packaging systems machinery, is currently at the forefront of the packaging industry, growing their installation base substantially, since the replacement of the original iteration of the MPS 6000 series machines in 1997 with the overhauled MPS 6000 lines of sealers.

“Since the redesign of the MPS 6000, we have received favorable feedback from our customers. Not only did we want to upgrade the machinery for customers to operate with a higher quality and reliability, but we wanted to make sure we were producing cost effective machines as well,” states John Lewitt, V.P. Sales & Marketing, PLEXPACK.

Key features of the original MPS 6000 bag sealer line included a tool-less Teflon band tensioner, unique carrying rails and the ability to easily add on additional features. General upgrades include switching the machine from Imperial to Metric. Machine design risk assessments have been done in order to comply with ANSI B-155 requirements. The machine also meets all the "Health and Safety" requirements of the relevant European Directive(s) that provide for the appropriate marking.

Key upgrades include the following:

  • Stand: Replaced anodized stand to stainless steel; gas spring height adjustments had been made, with a crank

adjustable stand; created a horizontal machine option; extended height and inverted feet replacement.

  • Seal Section: Biscuit fan was replaced with an overhead cooling fan; increased mass area of cooling bar;

redesigned the pressure roller, opted for a clear cover for visibility, and a removable seal section option.

  • Control Box: Now controlled by a PID digital speed controller; equipped with a cool down switch, true interlock

switch and operates on a solid state relay.

  • Table Top: Able to be run at 0, 45 and 90 degrees.
