Based in Highland Park, Illinois, Lansky is a nationally recognized expert on the psychology and family dynamics of multigenerational wealth. An advisor to family enterprises throughout the United States, his clients range from family offices and private trust companies to Fortune 500 operations with the third or fourth generation at the helm.
Drawing on his background as a family therapist and clinical psychologist, Lansky has helped entrepreneurial families and families of considerable wealth improve family relationships, resolve conflict and turn struggling enterprises into thriving organizations.

He has served as a clinical faculty member and supervisor at Northwestern University’s Family Institute. He also taught marital and family therapy at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.
A frequent writer on family business and wealth, Lansky’s articles have appeared in Family Business Magazine, the Journal of Practical Estate Planning and the Journal of Tax Planning. He also conducts workshops for business owners, their families and their advisors. A member of the Family Firm Institute, Lansky was the coordinator of the institute’s Midwest Study Group, its longest standing study group. He is a member of The Private Wealth Advisors Study Group and serves on the board of advisors to The Institute for International Research Family Office Conference.
Lansky was one of the first psychologists in Illinois to be licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and was certified as a Family Therapy Supervisor by the National Association of Marital and Family Therapy. He obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Rutgers University, which is widely regarded as an elite school in the field. Lansky graduated with honors from Montreal’s McGill University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology.
