Universal is paying the highest flood rebate currently available in Florida

Universal Condominium Insurance Inc., an independent insurance agency specializing in condominium association insurance, announces that it now offers the largest flood rebate available in Florida. The company’s new program is designed to serve condominium associations in Florida that purchase flood insurance backed by through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), a government-backed program managed by FEMA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. With Universal’s new flood rebate program, associations qualify for an annual rebate valued at 15 percent off the retail rates set by the NFIP.

“We at Universal Condominium Insurance are proud to be able to help condominium association clients develop well-structured insurance programs at incredibly competitive premiums,” says Troy Visser, President of Universal Condominium Insurance. “Though several agencies currently rebate flood policies in Florida, Universal is paying the highest flood rebate currently available in Florida.”

The 15 percent rebate offered by Universal is available on every flood policy written through our admitted Write Your Own Carriers and backed by in the NFIP. The NFIP sets rates for flood coverage and Universal’s policies are 100 percent backed by the NFIP.

Universal is able to provide its clients such a large rebate because the company specializes in insurance policies for high-valued condominium buildings valued from $500,000 to $200 million. The company then rebates the commission made on those policies -- normally paid to the agency -- back to the association. The rebate is paid back to each client association every year it places its flood policy through Universal. As a result, Universal is able to offer the highest rebate in the Florida marketplace, all without reducing a client’s coverage, increasing their deductible or changing the terms of their flood policy. This rebate practice is allowed under FL Statute 626.572.
