The San Francisco luxury condo market is showing signs of strong recovery, with one-bedroom condos selling in excess of $2 million, according to Damion Matthews, an expert in San Francisco real estate. Great views, services and luxury amenities still in demand.

The San Francisco luxury condo market is showing strong signs of recovery, with one-bedroom condos selling in excess of $2 million, according to an analysis by Damion Matthews of San Francisco Luxury Living.

A widely cited Wall Street Journal story reported that sales in San Francisco luxury real estate have reached levels last seen at the height of the market, with 49 homes selling for $2 million or more during the first quarter of 2010, compared to 47 in 2005.

But activity in the luxury condo market has also been strong.

The two most luxurious full-service buildings in San Francisco, the Four Seasons and the St. Regis, have seen a remarkably high level of activity in the last 3 months.

"There have been five sales at the Four Seasons since March, including a one-bedroom priced at $3 million," according to Damion Matthews, who specializes in luxury real estate sales in San Francisco.

"And even though the average condo at the St. Regis is over $2 million, agents have been quite busy showing the building to buyers," he says.

One condo currently on the market at the St. Regis features views of the City extending all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Priced at $2.6 million, the two-bedroom has all the conveniences one would expect in a luxury condo, like electronic shades and a built-in sound system.

But the best thing about it may be the white glove services available around the clock.

"Simply pick up the special St. Regis phone in your condo, and you can have practically any need taken care of," says Damion. "The comfort and convenience you experience is priceless."

Well, it may not be priceless, but for an increasing number of buyers, price is not preventing them from enjoying the best that San Francisco has to offer.
