The idea for this development came from a desire to streamline the packing process and improve dispatch, reduce costly packing errors to an absolute minimum, and to retain customers though improving the efficiency of stock delivery.

In the past, packers typically ticked items off on a packing sheet as they were placed into trays, skips, or boxes. If an item was not available at that time, or needed to be packed in another area, it was not ticked. Sadly, this practice is not error free. Add the complication of having orders that are partially packed hours or days ahead of delivery and it multiplies the chance for errors to occur.

This software application has been designed using the . NET framework to operate on virtually any touch-screen terminal in the world. It has been thoroughly tested in the baking sector to verify that it improves the overall dispatch and delivery process.

Features include the integration of the SOM database to display customer orders, van or round orders, and keep them updated as items are packed and loaded. It uses a green, yellow, red traffic light system to assign priority to certain items, loads, or customers to alert packing and dispatch staff of potential problems, and filters to show orders that are outstanding, packed, or on route.
