Humor's a powerful tool for connecting to customers. Make them laugh and you make them think!
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 3, 2010
Second City Communications CEO, Tom Yorton, takes the stage at the upcoming PR+MKTG Camp ™ in Chicago with a simple message for marketing and PR professionals: Make them laugh and you make them think! Humor’s a powerful tool for connecting with consumers.
“People laugh at things that are true — and we all remember something that was really funny,” said Tom Yorton, who heads Second City Communications, the marketing services division of the world famous comedy theatre company, The Second City. “But there are some important things to remember: Fresh content is key. Shorter is better. Problems are funnier than solutions. And know what your target audience would consider authentic,” he added.
Yorton will discuss the power of humor in marketing and social media campaigns at the PR+MKTG Camp ™ on June 8 in Chicago — a one-day conference that draws professionals from all levels of business, non-profits, government agencies, associations and educational institutions.
"PR+MKTG Camp Chicago brings information, community and fun to the complex issues surrounding social media," said event organizer Dan Greenfield, principal of Bernaise Source Media. "An amazing group of brands, agencies and consultants come together to share best practices — and we’re excited to have Second City Communications talk about the whys and hows of using humor in marketing and social media – tapping case studies to show creative ways to connect to consumers directly,” said Greenfield.
