New York (PRWEB) June 7, 2010
RFID Journal, the world's leading media and events company covering radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, will host a free webinar for apparel and footwear retailers and suppliers that will address some common misperceptions regarding the cost and complexity involved in deploying an RFID system in an apparel or footwear store.
“Many retailers I have spoken with believe they need to rip out their existing back-end systems if they want to use RFID to improve inventory accuracy and replenishment,” said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. “Nothing could be further from the truth.”
The webinar, entitled “RFID Made Easy for Apparel Retailers: Cost-Effective Ways to Deploy RFID in Soft Goods Stores,” will be held on June 23 at 2 p.m. EDT and will explain strategies for integrating RFID technology with existing back-end inventory- and store-management systems. It will also outline best practices for deploying RFID software applications for managing store inventory; software options, such as hosted solutions; and cost-effective ways to place RFID tags on existing inventory.
This webinar will be moderated by Mark Roberti. The presenters will be:
- Zander Livingston, Truecount Corp.'s CEO and former director of RFID at American Apparel
- Rose Depoe, Avery Dennison's global director of RFID strategic solutions and alliances
- James M. Kress, VP of Sales, Tyco Retail Solutions
"It’s important for retailers and suppliers to understand that they can achieve significant benefits from RFID today, without major changes to either their IT systems or their business processes,” Roberti stated. “Each of our presenters has been involved in RFID store rollouts, and can speak from experience.”
