This year contestants from across the state will emerge on Arlington Texas for the Miss Texas 75th Celebration June 28th-July 2nd. This year is especially special with the addition of past contestants including Phyllis George, Miss America 1971, and Shirley Cothran, Miss America 1975 who will be the honorary Co-Chairs.

This year the Miss Texas Organization founded in 1936 by a group of civic minded citizens is planning for the Miss Texas 75th Celebration starting the week of June 28th-July 2nd at Texas Hall in Arlington,TX.

The Miss Texas and the Miss Teen Texas competition provides a statewide forum for today's young women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to Texas audiences the evening of the Wecast and to the public at large during the ensuing year. Kristen Blair, Miss Texas 2009 and Taylor Lowery, Miss Teen Texas 2009 will be a part of the pageant entertainment. Hundreds of young women participate each year in the local pageants, culminating in the selection of local finalists who vie for the Miss Texas title each July.

This is the 2nd year the Miss Texas Pageant has been in Arlington and its seems like a good fit for the competition. I think it’s part of the Jerry World phenomenon,” stated Chris Quinn Digital Branding & PR director the MTO. “You look up and see Super Bowls, the Cotton Bowl, NBA All-Star games and other events and it seems obvious that Arlington has become the place to be for big events in Texas. We’re also thrilled that Arlington has embraced the pageants as part of its cultural and entertainment fabric. At heart it is, essentially, a scholarship program for young women.”

This year Miss Teen Texas and Miss Texas will be Webcast LIVE at http://www.MissTexasWebcst.com July 2nd from Texas Hall on the UTA Campus in Arlington, Texas.
