Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) June 7, 2010
IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of risk management software for the legal industry, today announced that Reed Smith LLP, one of the 15 largest law firms in the world, with 23 offices and nearly 1600 lawyers in offices across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, has formalized plans to upgrade its installation of Wall Builder to version 4.1 in order to take advantage of the product’s enhanced confidentiality policy management and enforcement capabilities.
The upgrade will be undertaken as part of a firm initiative to adopt Autonomy iManage RecordsManager software, which Wall Builder will secure.
Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems. It also automates notifications to individuals subject to specific policies and tracks acknowledgments for compliance purposes.
“As a long standing IntApp client, we were pleased to see that the latest release of IntApp Wall Builder offers significant new enhancements that directly respond to the latest confidentiality issues facing law firms,” said Ed Witt, Director of Conflicts and Business Intake, Reed Smith LLP. “IntApp really sets itself apart as a vendor with deep expertise in law firm risk management, providing our firm with a mature product that smoothly integrates with our existing applications, data and business processes.”
Law firms must closely manage and track internal access to client information for many reasons. These include waiver-driven ethical screens, client outside counsel guidelines, and compliance with regulations such as the HITECH Act, ITAR and several data privacy laws.
Wall Builder replaces distributed, ad hoc approaches to information security with a centralized system that provides organizations with unprecedented capability and control over user access to specific applications, documents and other information. It’s the only product for law firms that delivers real-time enforcement while updating access rights in response to lawyer behavior to ensure that policies are kept up to date automatically.
“We’re moving to Autonomy iManage RecordsManager from another platform and are pleased to see that this raised no conflicts for IntApp, a company delivering products designed to integrate and interface with a broad range of standard legal applications, rather than trying to replace them,” said Gary Becker, Chief Information Officer, Reed Smith LLP. “IntApp has a long history of providing excellent client service, bringing together a skilled team of technology and risk experts to address our demanding technology and support requirements.”
“We’re proud to support Reed Smith’s ongoing confidentiality and information management initiatives,” said Pat Archbold, head of IntApp's Risk Practice Group. “Working collaboratively with our large community of law firm clients enables us to continuously develop our expertise and products to benefit the entire legal industry.”
IntApp provides software products and services that enable law firms to increase revenue, ensure client confidentiality, manage risk and maximize lawyer productivity. With over 150 customers, including 50% of the 100 largest US firms as ranked by The American Lawyer, and a vibrant partner community, IntApp has been embraced and endorsed as an industry standard.
