Public Health Foundation Enterprises, (PHFE), Announces Board Officers for 2010-2011

The board of directors of Public Health Foundation Enterprises, (PHFE), announced new officers for its 2010-2011 corporate year. They also selected Pasadena, CA as the location for their annual retreat scheduled for August 19 & 20, 2010.

While we will miss the skill guidance and comradarie that Azhar, Ellen and Bob brought to the board, we are looking forward to the new group of PHFE board officers who will lead us into the next decade

At its regular quarterly meeting in Los Angeles, The board of directors of Public Health Foundation Enterprises announced the selection of their officers for the coming year, recognized the service of retiring board members and selected Pasadena, California as the site of their annual retreat which will take place in August of this year.

Serving as Chairman of the Board will be Dr. Mike Ascher, who holds an academic appointment at UC Davis and serves as the Senior Medical Officer in the Governor's Office of Homeland Security, (Claifornia).
Bruce Y. Lai will serve as the First Vice Chair.
Mr. Lai serves as the Chief of Staff and Executive Director Innovation and Education Technology Strategy to the Chief Information Officer, (CIO), of the New York City Department of Education.
The Second Vice Chair position will be assumed by Peter D. Jacobson.
Mr. Jacobson is Professor of Health Law and Policy and the Director of the Center for Law, Ethics and Health at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Mike Gomez will serve as Board Secretary.
Mr. Gomez is the Chief Executive officer with Fiscal Credit Union.
The Board Treasurer position will continue to be filled by Karen Angel.
Ms. Angel is Global Implementaion Director, Global Media & Entertainment Center, Ernst & Young, LLP

The slate of officers will be installed on August 19, 2010 at PHFE's Annual Retreat in Pasedena, CA.

The board also acknowledged the service of retiring Chairman, Dr. Azhar K. Qureshi, Vice President of Clinical Quality for the St. Joseph Health System in Orange County, CA, retiring Secretary Ellen DiGiampaolo, RD, Director of Food & Nutrition Services, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and retiring board membe Robert D. Westfall, International Execuutive Service Corps.
