Martial Artists from Across the United States Invade Boston, MA, for First-Ever Martial Arts Academy

The Boston Center for Adult Education presents the first-ever Martial Arts Academy in Boston, MA. Providing both classroom lectures and physical educations classes, the Boston Martial Arts Academy is a 1-day program that serves as an introduction to those new to the Martial Arts as well as a vehicle for style sharing in the Martial Arts Community.

On Saturday, August 28, 2010 the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will hold the Boston Martial Arts Academy, the city's first ever, day-long, nationally recognized seminar for martial arts enthusiasts.

The Boston Martial Arts Academy (BMAA) is a day-long workshop held for martial arts enthusiasts, practitioners, or simply those wishing to learn more about the many styles and systems available. Open to students of all levels, the academy is designed to provide information and technique sharing between the many diverse martial arts systems and their respective cultures. The academy is comprised of both classroom lectures and hands-on demonstration classes. Taught by qualified masters in the field of martial arts, this year's style line up will feature lectures and technique classes in: Karate (Japanese Style), Krav Maga (Israeli Style), Capoeira (Brazilian Style), Tae Kwon Do (Korean Style), Kung Fu (Chinese Style), Jiu-Jitsu (Brazilian Style), Aikido (Japanese Style) and Tai Chi (Chinese Style). All students are required to take a minimum of 6 classes to graduate and receive their certification at closing ceremonies.

Teaching the classes will be martial arts instructors from some of Greater Boston's best martial arts schools. Graciously donating their time at this year's event will be will be: Sensei Jason Gould, Founder of Emerald Necklace Budo Martial Arts, Sifu Bob Rosen, Chief Instructor of the Wah Lum Kung Fu Athletic Association, Sifu Mai Du, Instructor of Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy of Malden, Sensei Heather Randolph, Head Instructor of Boston Kokikai Aikido, Inc., Gershon Ben Keren, Director of the Boston Academy of Krav Maga, Master Ali Roshankish, Founder of the Roshankish Martial Arts Center, Contra Mestre Chuvisquinho, Instructor of Capoeira at Roshankish Martial Arts Center and João "Amaral" Miranda, Head coach of Brazilian Top Team Boston.

The 2010 (1)-day seminar and workshop will be held at the Boston Center for Adult Education located at 122 Arlington Street, Boston, MA, on August 28, 2010 from 9:00AM - 5:00PM (EST).

The cost of the academy is a one-time fee of $199.00 and includes your BMAA certificate and T-shirt. Registration is now open and will officially close on August 21, 2010. Space is limited.
