Mount Rushmore Past Present & More
Port Huron, MI (Vocus) June 5, 2010
Web entrepreneurs, Bruce, Guy and Joyce Bailey are pleased to announce the publication of their brand-new website, JourneyOfVisions.com. Launched in April 2010, this site was developed by Bruce and his parents, Guy and Joyce Bailey, who scripted the pages for both books – “Around Mount Rushmore” and “Mount Rushmore Past Present & More” – all family members contributed photographs, Bruce processed the photos and completed the technical layout, while Guy managed the publishing details.
“Mount Rushmore Past Present & More” is a beautiful leather-bound book with gilded pages; it highlights the history and carving of the mountain and shows the modern Mount Rushmore Park today. This volume also includes vivid pictures of the local wildlife in their natural habitat. “Around Mount Rushmore” is the smaller of the two books; it’s not historically focused but does include pictures of the Badlands, Spearfish Canyon, Harney Peak, Sylvan Lake, Faith Rodeo, Devils Tower, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and modern day Mount Rushmore.
“Guy and I were born and raised in South Dakota and, therefore, appreciate the distinct historical qualities of the state, especially Mount Rushmore. As a family, we combined our talents to produce coffee-table books full of fantastic photography and interesting facts,” Joyce said.
For those who live locally or plan to visit Mount Rushmore Park, keep an eye out for and Guy and Joyce in the gift shop at the mountain. Almost every day of the week they can be found signing their books, which have become part of history, as many of the pictures used were from the Mount Rushmore archives.
“I’ve enjoyed photography since my high school years; in 1979 I turned my lifelong passion into a profession and continue to love every minute of it,” Bruce said.
Shoppers are encouraged to frequent JourneyOfVisions.com as Bruce will soon update the website with an extensive photo gallery that will allow customers to purchase individual pictures from the books, as well as wildlife from Africa, Yellowstone, North Dakota Badlands, scenic and underwater marine life.
To learn more about the many local events in the Mount Rushmore area, shoppers are prompted to visit the website’s new blog, http://www.JourneyOfVisionsBlog.com. Here, tourists can learn about the Native American pow-wows, local rodeos, festivals, car and motorcycle rallies and more.
