Fish Appoints New Worldwide CEO

Real-time measurement system specialist Fish has announced the appointment of former head of dmg world media, Mike Cooke, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman.

Real-time measurement system specialist Fish has announced the appointment of former head of dmg world media, Mike Cooke, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman.

Cooke has been an influential figure in the publishing and exhibition industry for more than twenty five years, having launched many market-leading exhibitions and magazines. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of dmg world media in 1997 and took the company from a UK based publishing and exhibition company to worldwide media business operating in 27 countries and with revenue of over US$400 million. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Exhibition Industry Foundation (EIF), and has been a Board member of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and the Association of Exhibition Organizers (AEO) in the U.K. He is currently CEO of OHW Media LLC, a company which he set up to hold media investments and provide angel investing and consultancy services.

Cooke, who is based in the US, is joining Fish at a pivotal time as the company is poised to install their visitor tracking technology at the UK’s two largest exhibition venues – the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK and ExCeL London. Accurate to within 6 inches every second, the Fish RTMS (Real Time Measurement System) system allows exhibitors and event organizers to collect high quality data about their customers to facilitate and enhance visitor engagements, and to improve marketing and sales decisions. It is due to go live in the Fall and already a number of organizers have committed to using the system for their events.

Commenting on his new role at the head of the Fish management team, Cooke said: “I truly believe that Fish could change the way the exhibition industry does business. The measurement and analytical information it provides gives event organizers and exhibitors clear insights into the way their customers think. It has the potential to revolutionize our industry, and I am absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead the company at such an exciting time.”
