CastlePointetoday announced that their white paper entitled, "Making Change Stick" has been selected as one of five U.S. semi-finalists in itSMF International's first annual white paper contest. Selected by itSMF USA from a national call for submissions, the white paper is now one of 19 international submissions being considered by itSMF International.

"Making Change Stick" describes the challenges of creating lasting cultural change in IT organizations and relates it to common human barriers to change. By offering real world, non-IT examples of barriers and solutions, it describes concrete techniques that IT can use to overcome the barriers to change. It describes how to resolve key issues commonly found with transformation and process improvement efforts such as:

  • Why executive sponsors are rarely used effectively, and how to change it.
  • How to build bridges between functional silos to overcome political barriers.
  • How to drive behavioral change within the organization through team structures.
  • Why efforts typically slow down after start-up and how to use a shadow governance structure to keep things moving.
  • Why personal investment and leadership gaps are two of the biggest challenges to transformation, and how you can overcome them.

The white paper will be made public after the completion of the itSMF International contest and will be available through itSMF International, as well as to CastlePointe clients.
