We share with SunGard a commitment to excellence, specialism and independence, and together we can provide the end customer a seamless and neutral service of high quality.
London, UK (Vocus) June 8, 2010
SunGard’s recently launched European electronic agency broker-dealer, Valdi Execution Services, has chosen KAS BANK, a European specialist in securities services, to provide an integrated clearing, settlement and back-office solution to the European markets. SunGard’s Valdi is now able to provide European traders with a single solution for pre- and post-trade processing, helping them increase transparency and efficiency across the trade lifecycle.
In the wake of MiFID, the fragmentation of liquidity has accelerated across the European markets. While this fragmentation has benefits in lower execution costs, it increases the complexity of pan-European securities trading, and the cost of post-trade processing. With SunGard’s Valdi providing the execution and liquidity services and KAS BANK managing the clearing and settlement process, customers benefit from an automated trade lifecycle that can help them reduce costs and achieve economies of scale.
SunGard’s Valdi Execution Services is one of the first brokers providing high frequency customers with sponsored access in Europe and is a leading provider of direct market access globally. With memberships at the London Stock Exchange, NYSE Euronext and UK-based MTFs Chi-X, BATS, Turquoise and Nasdaq OMX Europe, SunGard offers its customers access to European markets through its global execution services.
SunGard’s Valdi Execution Services will use KAS BANK’s cross-border clearing and settlement platform and back-office solution, which relies on SunGard's Stream RIMS technology and includes static data and reference management, deal capture, settlement enrichment, trade accounting and cash and stock reconciliation. KAS BANK’s integrated services support post-execution processes and will help SunGard’s Valdi Execution Services focus on helping customers achieve best execution and decrease trading costs.
Laurens Vis, managing director, KAS BANK UK, said, “We share with SunGard a commitment to excellence, specialism and independence, and together we can provide the end customer a seamless and neutral service of high quality.”
Raj Mahajan, president of SunGard’s trading business, said, “KAS BANK aligns well with SunGard as an independent and neutral provider that focuses strongly on risk management. Working with KAS BANK will help us automate pre- to post-trade processing for customers in Europe which will help them improve efficiencies and reduce their overall trading costs.”
