Automated tools are absolutely essential to finding affordable insurance online

Launched in 2002 to help consumers locate and keep affordable automotive coverage, CarInsuranceList.com, has steadily built its web presence over the past eight years. In 2009, the site was fully redesigned to showcase its simple, intuitive quote engine and library of articles. Earlier this year, both a blog and a Twitter stream (now with more than 150 followers) were added in an effort to broaden the site’s consumer outreach. Now, the site's writers have completed 25 comprehensive reviews of major insurance companies currently writing automotive coverage.

“Automated tools are absolutely essential to finding affordable insurance online," said Jon Davidson, CarInsuranceList.com CEO. “That's why we have one of the best rate quote engines in the industry, but we also recognize that many factors go into choosing an insurer. People want background on the companies they are considering, and our new company review section provides that and more.”

Companies reviewed on the CarInsuranceList site include: Mercury Insurance Group, Nationwide, GMAC Insurance, Travelers, Unitrin Auto Insurance, Infinity, Liberty Mutual, Budget Car Insurance, Direct Line Insurance, Progressive, Farmers, AAA, AIG, Titan, Esurance, Erie Insurance Group, Eastwood, Western General, Geico, AARP, 21st Century, Allstate, and State Farm.

Each comprehensive review includes a company overview, a link to the appropriate website, and an overview of the website itself. "With growing numbers of consumers shopping for and comparing insurance online," said Davidson, "we felt it was important to include a functional appraisal of company websites, their features, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Frankly, a strong, effective website says a great deal about a company."

CarInsuranceList offers readers fast access to insurance quotes by zip code. A list of major companies is returned with bulleted basic information allowing the visitor to move to the next level of a rate search at the provider’s own site. This painless process, married to in-depth background research, up-to-date industry tips, and now social networking, makes CarInsuranceList a one-stop-shop for all aspects of the search for quality automotive insurance. The editors invite consumer questions, comments, and ideas.
