Discovery has a portfolio of strong channel brands available in every country across Europe and much of the Middle East and Africa, which broadcast the highest quality factual entertainment programmes. Our mission is to grow and localise our channel offerings and we have chosen to work with BDA because we believe they can meet the high creative standards expected from our loyal European viewers.

Discovery Networks EMEA, a division of the number one non fiction media company, has awarded BDA their on-air creative account for part of their channel portfolio.
Maurizio Vitale, SVP Marketing Communications for Discovery Networks EMEA said: “Discovery has a portfolio of strong channel brands available in every country across Europe and much of the Middle East and Africa, which broadcast the highest quality factual entertainment programmes. Our mission is to grow and localise our channel offerings and we have chosen to work with BDA because we believe they can meet the high creative standards expected from our loyal European viewers.”
Discovery Networks EMEA awarded the contract to BDA following the success of a sales reel created for Discovery’s premium HD channel, Discovery HD Showcase that recently won a Gold Promax Europe award. As part of the agreement BDA will be required to produce 11 promotional campaigns a month for a number of channels in the Discovery portfolio, which include Animal Planet, Discovery Travel & Living, ID: Investigation Discovery, Discovery Science, Discovery World, Animal Planet HD and Discovery HD Showcase
Honor Barratt, Group Managing Director BDA, says: “At BDA we already have a roster of retained clients across drama, sports and comedy so we’re really excited to be able to add to it with a factual broadcaster of Discovery’s calibre. Discovery is confident in the strength of their brands and they allow us to experiment with really strong creative concepts, as you’ll see with the innovative Shark Month campaign.”
The first promo in the new deal is an amusing take on Shark Month, an annual feature on Animal Planet, which shows how fear of sharks can affect everyday life.
