Sarasota Florida hotel, fresh from a $22 million renovation, also renewed commitment to green practices.

Since day one, it has been our goal to provide our guests with a top notch experience, so it's a great feeling to see the efforts of our talented team recognized by industry leaders.

Following an extensive renovation that transformed Hyatt Regency Sarasota Hotel and Resort into a fashionable favorite among discerning business and leisure travelers, the Sarasota Florida hotel has earned a prestigious AAA Four Diamond rating from the American Automobile Association (AAA,) making it the only AAA Four Diamond hotel in the Sarasota area.

"This is an extraordinary accomplishment that illustrates how far the hotel has come in the past year," said Hyatt Regency Sarasota hotel's general manager Mark Becker. "Since day one, it has been our goal to provide our guests with a top notch experience, so it's a great feeling to see the efforts of our talented team recognized by industry leaders."

The Sarasota Florida hotel and resort recently completed a $22 million, head-to-toe renovation that resulted in a stylish and refined atmosphere in line with the standards of a Four Diamond property. The hotel has received rave reviews for its casually sophisticated, bright and airy "Florida chic" feel. Guestrooms and meeting rooms received extreme makeovers, Currents Restaurant was added along with premier over-the-water event space, and the sleek lobby was infused with new life with the addition of a library, 24-hour bar and communal seating areas.

In addition to completely transforming the hotel's appearance and enhancing service standards, the team at the Sarasota hotel and resort has initiated programs to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout all areas of the hotel. As a result of these efforts, the hotel has received One Palm designation from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Green Lodging program. Hyatt Regency Sarasota's 32-slip private marina has also been awarded a Clean Marina designation from the Florida DEP.

Some of the standard requirements of the Green Lodging program that have been instituted include water conservation measures through low flow plumbing fixtures, linen reuse program per guest request, installation of ENERGY STAR appliances and programmable thermostats, waste reduction through recycling and purchasing items in bulk, and using green cleaners and high efficiency air filters. In addition to these green practices, Executive Chef Aaron Chavarria is committed to supporting local growers and food suppliers. He incorporates the freshest local and organic ingredients as well as seasonal selections into his menus for both banquets and Currents Restaurant whenever possible.
The Florida Clean Marina Program is a voluntary designation program with a proactive approach to environmental stewardship. To become designated as a Clean Marina, facilities must implement a set of environmental measures designed to protect Florida's waterways. These measures address critical environmental issues such as sensitive habitat, waste management, storm water control, spill prevention and emergency preparedness.
