The v2.0 release has increased flexibility and numerous workflow enhancements. The customizable protocols contribute significantly to both patient throughput and reaching appropriate, actionable outcomes more quickly.
Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) June 9, 2010
Ziosoft, Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and functional analytics for the medical care market, announced the launch of its version 2.0 software upgrade for the Ziostation® system. The new upgrade features multiple workflow and clinical enhancements including improved colon and vessel analysis with highly customizable protocols.
"We worked closely with our clinical research partners to develop additional workflow efficiencies and clinical enhancements," said Kazu Matsumoto, founder and CEO of Ziosoft. "Because our technology is based on a supercomputing software platform, we are able to quickly leverage increases in computer processing power which enables unparalleled image quality and indications-driven workflow as defined by the individual clinician or facility. This newest release is further evidence of the power of supercomputing."
The Ziostation v2.0 software upgrade provides automated pre-processing based on user preferences. There are also unlimited protocols that can be configured for any case type to optimize the workflow and user-interface for that specific protocol. Additionally, configurable action "wizards" are available that can simplify processing by offering prompts to step a user through a case. New default buttons and palettes streamline the pathway to clinical outcomes.
"We have found the user interface to be even more intuitive and efficient in this new software upgrade," said Myron Pozniak, MD, head of Abdominal Imaging at the Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. "The v2.0 release has increased flexibility and numerous workflow enhancements. The customizable protocols contribute significantly to both patient throughput and reaching appropriate, actionable outcomes more quickly."
Several clinical enhancements are also available with the upgrade. These include improved colon analysis with multiple layout options and linking tools as well as enhanced vessel analysis. For specific markets outside of the U.S., integration with MedicSight computer aided detection (CAD) for the colon is now available along with SPECT/CT cardiac fusion analysis. MR cardiac time/intensity and delayed signal intensity analysis plus MR brain time/intensity are also provided for these markets.
The new 2.0 upgrade was recently featured at the International Society of Computed Tomography conference where Ziosoft participated in a clinical face-off successfully completing all clinical challenges in the allotted four minutes. Ziosoft's supercomputing technology is based on dynamic, instantaneous analysis of chaotic information in weather which has extremely similar data characteristics to the human body. Over the years, this technology evolved from a large room of host computer hardware to a centralized, CPU-based processing server allowing multiple concurrent users throughout the enterprise system. This has resulted in several significant advantages including non-compressed images producing the highest integrity and accurate image quality, optimized user efficiency and maximum cost effectiveness for an extensive range of clinical applications. It also enables indications-driven workflow and supports reimbursement as well as HIPAA requirements.
The technology's supercomputing software architecture is economical and scalable, eliminating the need for costly, multiple proprietary or specialized GPU rendering boards. It integrates seamlessly with standard, off-the-shelf hardware and helps expand the life of existing expensive modalities such as CT and MR.
