Every day here in the UK the violence inflicted on children seems to be getting worse. Stabbings, abductions, children committing suicide from bullying. It appears that not even the police can protect our children any more.

It is time parents taught their child basic self-defense and self-confidence skills in order to protect them for life against bullies and attackers.
With violent crime on the increase it is no longer safe for parents to bury their head in the sands and hope that their child never has to face a dangerous situation. As parents, it is our responsibility to teach our children basic self-defense to ensure our child’s safety especially when we are not there to protect them.
Children these days are more vulnerable than ever. Other children happily record themselves bullying and beating up victims and uploading the video to sites like youtube.com for the world to see. Humiliation is the buzz word with bullying these days. And this scars children for life.
Horrific cases of child abduction pepper our newspapers on seemingly a daily basis. There are people out there looking to hurt our children. It is every parent’s nightmare but so many of us simply ignore this fact and hope for the best. Unfortunately this is the worst thing a parent can do.
Luckily a team of people in the UK realize this and chose to do something about it.
http://www.tkdtransformations.com is a web site that, in just a few hours, trains parents how to teach their child basic self-defense and safety principles from the comfort of their own home.
The team behind the web site is BTS Southampton, a martial arts company recently featured on the BBC News in the UK. The BBC News reported how the company’s head coach, Master Joe Brown, has coached several national champions in the martial arts sport of taekwondo. And most of the champions were girls!
Jack Knight is the creator of the TKD Transformations program who contacted BTS Southampton with his idea for the site. Jack recalls that he snapped one night whilst watching the news.
“Every day here in the UK the violence inflicted on children seems to be getting worse. Stabbings, abductions, children committing suicide from bullying. It appears that not even the police can protect our children any more.
I decided to do my bit by partnering up with one of the top self defense instructors in the UK to create a program that will help give parents peace of mind so that should, God forbid, their child ever get in a violent confrontation, they will have the skills to escape unharmed”.
The TKD Transformations program is based around a very interesting principle as Knight explains.
“Those who attack children look for an easy target. They look for those with low self confidence. So by teaching a child to do something as simple as hold their shoulders back when they walk the child will project self confidence and lower their chances of ever getting attacked. The TKD Transformations program teaches parents how to boost their child’s confidence and self defense skills in a fun way. But the idea is by just getting your child to become more confident the self defense skills will never be needed anyway”.
