We have had a terrific time using New Relic in our own development
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 9, 2010
New Relic, Inc., the leading software-as-a-service provider of application performance management solutions, today announced that it has integrated its flagship application management tool RPM with Atlassian JIRA, a leading agile development and issue-tracking solution used by thousands of organizations worldwide. New Relic is demonstrating this capability at Atlassian Summit 2010, Booth 4, June 9-11 in San Francisco. The addition of RPM's production application monitoring capabilities in the JIRA console creates a closed-loop system for ensuring the delivery of superior-performing web applications by allowing development and deployment teams to track application development projects end-to-end from development through production.
JIRA provides issue tracking and project tracking for software development teams to improve code quality and speed application development. Combining a clean, fast interface for capturing and organizing issues with customizable workflows, OpenSocial dashboards and a pluggable integration framework, JIRA is an essential tool for thousands of development teams worldwide. New Relic RPM is an application performance management tool that provides deep visibility into Java, JRuby, and Ruby web applications. It allows development and deployment teams to monitor live web applications 24x7, proactively identify and troubleshoot potential performance issues, and tune applications for optimal performance. Through the integration of the two products, development teams can now use RPM to monitor live web applications from within the JIRA console.
"We have had a terrific time using New Relic in our own development," said Mike Cannon-Brookes, Atlassian co-founder and CEO. "By offering around-the-clock application monitoring from within JIRA, we have found even greater control over our development projects throughout the application lifecycle."
"Atlassian JIRA helps application teams speed development and improve application quality," Lew Cirne, founder and CEO of New Relic. "New Relic RPM's deep visibility into production application health and availability helps agile development teams take the last critical step in the application development process as they deploy the application into production. Now the team working on a software project can monitor and troubleshoot applications throughout the life of the project."
Application monitoring with RPM in the JIRA console is available today and is easy to implement. Current New Relic customers can get started by simply selecting the "API and Web Integration" tab under "Account Settings," then choosing "Atlassian JIRA." To see a live demonstration of this capability, Atlassian Summit attendees can visit New Relic at Booth 4 the evening of June 9th or at anytime during the Summit on June 10th and 11th. New Relic CEO Lew Cirne will also demonstrate this capability during his LaunchPad session on Thursday June 10, at 10:30 am Pacific Time.
