QualiTest Group, a global leader in Quality Assurance and Software Testing services, announced the completion of an end-to-end QA managed services project for the Israel Postal Company. The project included taking full responsibility for the QA and software testing on the project while providing a full testing solution. Part of the QualiTest solution included implementing the Exploratory Testing approach.
The new iPost system
With the intent of upgrading their services through using new technologies that are the next generating of messaging, mailing and billing, Israel post office announced the development of iPost. iPost offers a new generation of online managing of mail, bills and private digital information. Launching such a sensitive and complex system requires a substantial quality assurance process. This system, which is planned to be used by millions of paying customers, had to be as close as possible to bug free before the launch.
Full managed service
QualiTest was given full QA and testing responsibility for the project. A testing team was established in order to mange and conducts the testing onsite. The team consisted of experience testers backed up professionally by QualiTest experts and testing methodology developed by QualiTest.
As in other cases, the Onshore and onsite testing model proved to be very productive and contributed to the maturity of the testing process. In addition, direct contact between the developers, the testers and the client, saved a lot of management attention, time and as a result: money.
A crucial part of the testing was done according to the Exploratory Testing (ET) approach developed by James Bach. This approach directs testers to simultaneous learn, design and execute tests. According to what the testers absorbed, learn and analyzed during the process, specific tests that focus on the most potential problematic areas of the system were execute. This approach led to better bug reproduction and resulted with a better system, while using fewer resources.
