We expect these local items to compliment the area craft beers and Kentucky bourbons that will be featured in the BlueFire Bar and Grill
Lexington, KY (PRWEB) June 15, 2010
Hyatt Regency Lexington announced today that Chef Chris VandenBerg will lead the kitchen team assembled to open the Lexington Kentucky hotel's new BlueFire Bar & Grill. Chef VandenBerg brings a diverse background, a wide range of skills and a keen understanding of American and international cuisine to the Lexington Kentucky restaurant.
VandenBerg's roots began in Edmonton, Alberta where he assisted acclaimed Chef Michael Smith. Determined to master all aspects of regional and international cuisine, VandenBerg went on to study at Canada's award-winning NAIT School of Culinary Arts. Once his formal training was complete, VandenBerg set out to work in a variety of restaurants and as a result, has learned a wide array of cooking styles and techniques.
VandenBerg is developing a menu for the Lexington Kentucky restaurant that will focus on traditional local and Southern foods presented in a unique style. The new menu represents a farm- to- table culinary approach using locally grown ingredients whenever possible. "We expect these local items to compliment the area craft beers and Kentucky bourbons that will be featured in the BlueFire Bar and Grill" said VandenBerg.
"BlueFire Bar & Grill will be a lively addition to Lexington's downtown dining scene," said Larry Bell, general manager of Hyatt Regency Lexington Kentucky hotel. "We conducted an extensive search to identify a talented young chef who could capture the essence of Southern and Kentucky cooking with an updated sense of style. With Chef VandenBerg on board, we have achieved that goal."
The $1 million Lexington Kentucky restaurant and bar project is on schedule and expected to open in early July. In addition to bar service, the BlueFire Bar & Grill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Guests will enjoy an upscale atmosphere with bamboo flooring, flat-panel HDTVs, sofa seating and free Wi-Fi service. The restaurant will also feature a unique color-changing LED lighting element and soothing fountain.
