InterExchange, Inc., a leading international cultural exchange organization, announced the discontinuation of its H-2B Visa USA program and will instead leverage these valuable resources to support its highly regarded J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor and Working Abroad programs.
The InterExchange H-2B Program was launched in 2004 to match U.S. employers who have extended seasons with international staff seeking short-term work opportunities. The increasing regulatory complexities and politicization of the H-2B Visa have made it more challenging for U.S. seasonal employers and organizations like InterExchange to navigate what was once a viable, affordable and culturally rewarding option for meeting seasonal staffing needs.
"InterExchange has successfully facilitated cultural exchange experiences through J-1 Visa and Working Abroad programs for over 40 years by offering programs like Work & Travel USA, Career Training USA, Au Pair USA and Camp USA," said Christine La Monica-Lunn, InterExchange's CEO and Executive Director. "We're responding to the regulatory and marketplace changes by shifting resources from our H-2B program to our increasingly robust J-1 Visa programs. By making this shift, we are best able to fulfill our mission of creating cross-cultural experiences by matching qualified international staff with enriching short-term work opportunities in the U.S. as well as abroad."
InterExchange is one of the largest and most established organizations in the U.S. to offer J-1 Visa work programs. Larry Rothchild, InterExchange's Director of Business Development stated, "By focusing our resources on our Work & Travel USA and Career Training USA programs, we can deliver the highest level of support to U.S. employers with their recruitment needs for seasonal entry-level staff and professional level interns. InterExchange will also assist former H-2B employers who qualify for our J-1 Visa programs to transition to these international staffing opportunities."
Current H-2B Visa summer employers and staff can be assured that they will still enjoy the same high standard of customer service from InterExchange throughout the remainder of the season at http://www.interexchange.org/h2bvisa
