Lexington, MA (PRWEB) June 14, 2010
The Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) announced that they will be opening a new branch at 57 Bedford Street in Lexington in July 2010.
"Our Program has been specifically designed to create an atmosphere of learning, along with fun and respect.” said Inessa Rifkin, President and Founder of the Russian School of Mathematics. “It has a strong emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking which apply to the children’s lives as a whole, not just math”. Rifkin started the program as a small instructional group for Newton teenagers studying for the SAT. It quickly became obvious to Rifkin that there existed a large unmet demand for a high quality, desirable approach to math.
The program’s classical structure, it’s unique concepts of early introduction of Algebra and rigorous in-depth curriculum will attract many parents who want to prepare children for the challenges of higher education and international competition. Additionally, the program is structured to address the varied mathematic needs of all children from remedial studies to those students that need a greater challenge than the public schools can often provide. This broad spectrum is just one unique feature of the program.
Another unique feature is the Russian School of Mathematics structure for continuous education which moves children from one level of math to the next in preparation and ultimately participation in Math Competitions and Olympiads – a course that provides an extra challenge and interaction with talented peers. The program will be staffed by the same experienced teachers from the RSM Newton branch and will utilize the same model and curriculum.
The new program will serve the families from Lexington and surrounding communities such as Burlington, Waltham and Woburn. Currently, many Russian School of Mathematics students in grades K through 12 commute weekly from Lexington and surrounding towns to take advantage of the school’s classically structured and highly acclaimed program in Newton.
Limited spaces are available for the 6-week Summer program which starts July 5, but enrollment is currently being accepted for September (2010-2011 School Year).
