Force 3, delivering the best in federal security, unified communications and data center solutions, today announced that it has awarded three $4,000 college scholarships to local students for the 2010-2011 school year. Winners were announced on Friday at an awards ceremony honoring the winners: Audrey Hosford from Annapolis, Md., Joi Carter from Ft. Meade, Md., and Claudia Theis from Pasadena, Md.
Applicants were required to be a graduating senior at an Anne Arundel County high school planning to attend an accredited college/university/technical school as a full-time student in the 2010-2011 school year. Special consideration was given to minorities and women interested in pursuing a career in the technical field.
A panel of Force 3 executives reviewed each application and essay, paying extra attention to academic achievements, community service and educational goals. Winners were chosen after an exhaustive interview process.
- Audrey Hosford is a recent graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School and will be attending Northwestern University to study engineering.
- Joi Carter is a recent graduate of Meade High School and will be attending North Carolina A&T State University to study computer science.
- Claudia Theis is a recent graduate of Northeast High School and will be attending University of Maryland, College Park, to study engineering.
