The service, launched in June of this year, offers a unique and safe method for finding cell phones and unlisted numbers. Intelifact is not just a database, it's an entire team of researchers compiling reports and assuring accuracy. The company claims to have over 250 million private phone numbers which include historical data. Intelifact.com has designed a manual screening system to weed out telemarketers, harassment and unwanted phone calls in order to protect the privacy of the phones owner.
Telecom providers have attempted cell phone directories in the past, but due to disagreements between carriers, most never reached full market fruition. In 2008, Intelius attempted an automated cell phone directory. The company pulled the database down after strong public backlash according to press releases. "Intelifact's service is obviously needed in the general public, however it's only possible to offer this service if there is privacy oriented due diligence within the processing of orders" Maddison Lake, President of Intelifact said. Within three days of opening the company has performed over 4,000 individual searches. The majority of the searches conducted during that time were for the purpose of finding lost loved ones.
“We believe that the markets are ready for a service like this. Nobody wants a phone book published with their cell phone number in it. However, with a service like ours, a lost love one can locate a relative or someone can find a person who owes them a debt,” Said Ian Johnson, Operations Manager for Intelifact.com.
Intelifact's services are operated around the clock. The company promises that all searches are completed in less than 10 minutes. The fact that all searches are conducted by human beings allows Intelifact to provide results with unprecedented accuracy. Services are only available to the United States and Canada.
