Comfort, relaxation and romance have been taken to the next level in Haliburton, Ontario, thanks to luxurious new upgrades at Oakview Lodge & Marina, a boutique bed and breakfast inn and lakefront Ontario resort.

Under the ownership of partners Valerie & Krenar Kulla, Oakview Lodge & Marina (http://www.oakviewlodge.com), a charming lakeside bed and breakfast inn on Little Hawk Lake in the Haliburton Highlands, has developed into a very popular Ontario resort by offering guests the best in first class dining, warm hospitality and attractive lakeside suites, all in a beautiful wilderness setting. This season, the Kulla's have made a number of changes at Oakview Lodge to make the lakeside lodge even more attractive and welcoming to both new and returning guests.

Changes to Oakview this year include upgrades to all of the lodge guest rooms. Raising the bar from simply comfortable to lavishly indulgent, all guest suites will be outfitted with plush pillow-top mattresses and cozy goose down duvets, for the ultimate in comfort and relaxation. "Over the last few years, we have seen our couples' business at the lodge steadily increase. Couples on romantic getaways are very discriminating. They come to Oakview to relax and be pampered, and we strive to give them exactly what they want," states Valerie Kulla.

Guest returning to Oakview Lodge & Marina this summer will notice the new sun deck that has been built over the winter. It is sure to become another one of many favorite places for guests to sit and enjoy the beautiful Haliburton scenery. Also new this year, Oakview is introducing complimentary wine and cheese for their lodge guests. As in past seasons, Chef Krenar has once again created a new dinner menu that reflects the latest food and dining trends. "At Oakview, we plan our menus with our cliental in mind. I am always pleased when guests tell me that our food and wine list is one of the reasons they return to Oakview year after year. Our new menu offers a variety of new dishes, as well as some old favorites. We always try to incorporate fresh and local ingredients whenever we can and we always try to offer enough variety to appeal to all tastes," says Chef Krenar.

Oakview Lodge's winning combination of fine gourmet dining, comfortable accommodations and great service has made it not only a popular Ontario resort for family vacations, seniors' getaways and fishing weekends with the boys, but a thriving couples resort, sought-after by romantic couples wishing to indulge in a romantic weekend for two. "We feel that it is important that Oakview retains its distinct personality, but we also feel that it is important to change with the times. Every year, we make improvements to the lodge, enhancing service and upgrading many of its amenities, but we are always very careful to retain the lodge's old-world charm that many of our return guests have come to love. We want our guests to feel at home at Oakview and to be pleased with the fresh new changes that we have made," says Valerie.
