The race is on to save planet earth! “The PlanetHugger Boston event provides us with the perfect springboard to launch an environmentally focused product, which has been on our drawing board for some time,” said Sean Polay, product manager for distributed media for Dow Jones Local Media Group.

Special guest speaker, Ed Begley Jr., will kick off the PlanetHugger Boston event on July 24. The well-respected actor and environmental activist wowed the crowds last year and sure to rally visitors again by showing that he indeed practices what he preaches on living a green life. A number of exhibitors will be on hand showcasing products and services help you choose greener solutions.

PlanetHugger’s mission is “to educate, inspire, and empower children and adults, individuals and families, men and women, urbanites and small town folks to come together in their communities and workplaces to create a more sustainable planet for future generations.”

“Our media groups pay a significant amount of attention to environmental and sustainability issues across a wide variety of content categories. Our audiences are demonstrating a clear interest in this coverage, whether the stories are about the nation’s first windfarm being proposed for New England waters, local governments trimming budgets via greener operations, or simply listing the times and places of a growing number of farmers’ markets sprouting up in the communities we cover,”

Mr. Polay noted, adding, “Our advertisers also are increasing the amount of green messaging and product announcements in their campaigns. One of our primary goals as a media company is to connect audience segments and interests with advertisers, and the eGreen newsletter provides us with an ideal means of connecting those two groups.”

The race to save the planet will continue long after PlanetHugger Boston has concluded, which is why eGreen will continue to come to you fresh each week with top environmental stories, real life examples of living a green life, green tips for living, plus fun and exciting new contests.
