Dunn&Co. Wins National ADDY Award for ALS Television

Dunn&Co. took home a National Silver ADDY Award in the Public Service category for its Piece by Piece television commercial developed for the ALS Association Florida Chapter. Piece by PIece is the most successful ALS awareness effort to date in the state of Florida.

Dunn&Co. has been awarded a National Silver ADDY® in the Public Service category for its Piece by Piece television commercial developed for the ALS Association Florida Chapter. The Piece by Piece campaign uses mannequin torsos and limbs to metaphorically portray the destructive effects of ALS, often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Dunn&Co. represented the Tampa Bay advertising community as the area’s only agency to be honored at the American Advertising Federation’s National ADDY Awards Show and Gala, which took place June 12.

Since the launch of Piece by Piece in January 2009, the campaign has become the most successful ALS awareness effort to date in the state of Florida. According to the ALS Association Florida Chapter, it has generated more than $60,000 in donations, with nearly 70% from brand new donors. The Chapter’s number of supporters has increased by 38.5%, from 34,404 at the time of the campaign’s launch to 47,650 current supporters.

In addition to the television component, the Piece by Piece campaign features a series of billboards, posters, web initiatives, various ambient media displays and a unique traveling exhibit of 150 mannequin torsos with “stolen parts”. Dunn&Co. donated $225,000 worth of creative services to develop and launch the Piece by Piece campaign.
