As part of a weeklong program by area businesses, DI Graphics – a Denver-based vinyl signage company specializing in wraps for vehicles, buildings and event marketing – hosted a tour for middle/high school teachers and counselors from the Jeffco Public Schools Career Employability Institute. The focus was to explain to instructors of potential future employees what is expected of entry-level positions. Institute attendees also earned continuing education credits towards maintaining their teaching certificates.

“We developed a half-day event that included a brief history and background of our business as well as current industry challenges, “said DI Graphics CEO Scott McLean. “The agenda included a panel of speakers who talked about everything from employee expectations to specific areas and training educators could add to their curriculums to better prepare young people for entry-level employment in our industry.”

“We were thrilled at the chance to again host such an important career development event at our facility.”

The half-day event covered a wide array of career opportunities and insights. The Jefferson County public school attendees heard from production artists, customer care representatives and shop floor employees as each discussed positions within the organization, required skill sets, and typical career paths.

“We hosted this same tour in 2004. The Institute said it was the highlight of the week and asked if we’d participate again.” McLean said. “We were thrilled at the chance to again host such an important career development event at our facility.”
