"I am dedicated to providing world class technology, surgical expertise, and patient experience for those that want to experience the magic of lase vision correction"- Manoj Motwani, M.D.

Dr. Manoj Motwani is having a Grand Opening Red Carpet Event for his new laser eye surgery center in UTC-La Jolla. Dr. Motwani has been performing custom Lasik, PRK, Epi-Lasik, and other laser eye procedures in San Diego for 11 years now, and this latest center is chock full of new technology. He is celebrating this event by also donating proceeds of the auction of Lasik procedures and other items to Rady's Children's Hospital. The Red Carpet Event is on June 25th from 6-10 in the courtyard of 4520 Executive Drive, an area that is decorated by fountains, colored lighting, and will have catered foods, champagne, and music. There will also be the opportunity to see his new center, which features some of the latest and most unique next generation technology in the world.

Dr. Motwani's pioneering work on aspheric ablations in 2002-2003 led to the best published visual results in San Diego. Besides the laser on which he performed some of the first aspheric ablations (which result in a natural shaped cornea post laser eye surgery) in the country in 2002-2003, he has added the new Alcon Wavelight Allegretto Eye-Q Wave 400Hz excimer laser system. This is study proven to be the fastest, most accurate laser in the world today, reducing secondary surgeries to well under 2%. It is also the only laser approved by the FDA to reduce night glare and halos. Dr. Motwani has also brought the first Ziemer Da Vinci Femtosecond laser microkeratome to San Diego. This device is used for Blade-Free All Laser Lasik, and uses about one-quarter to one-third the energy of other laser microkeratomes, resulting in much less pain, less swelling, faster vision clarity, and decreased dry eye. All of this is housed in a center that emphasizes warmth, space, and individual care along with the technology. Dr. Motwani continues to do all surgeries and examine all patients himself, and also repair past laser eye surgery complications. With this new technology and procedures that he has pioneered, he can treat patients that were formerly not candidates for laser eye surgery, or were told that the procedure would not work for them. He has treated some of the highest astigmatism, nearsightedness, and farsightedness in the world.
