RDC Software, http://www.relationalwizards.com, unveiled the new Version 7.0 of the Encryption Wizard for Oracle, which now ships with the option to store master keys on Hardware Security Modules (HSM). The Encryption Wizard for Oracle is a transparent data encryption suite for the Oracle RDBMS.

"With the ability to store database encryption keys on a secure hardware device," explains RDC marketing director Don Parret, "the Encryption Wizard now meets new data security standards for remote key storage."

Calling JCA directly from the Oracle JVM, the Encryption Wizard is able to generate, store and retrieve master keys from an HSM card. These master keys are in turn used to generate column level keys within the Oracle database. With the HSM in place, it becomes virtually impossible for traditional data theft to occur, since all encrypted data is dependent on the HSM master key stored on a physical device.

"With the Encryption Wizard's compatibility to HSM offerings," says Don Parret, "Oracle database customers and PCI QSA's now have an economical way to secure data-at-rest and meet new tougher compliance standards that require remote key storage."

Built around an intuitive Java interface, the Encryption Wizard is the ideal tool for security managers and database administrators who are looking for an affordable and tested transparent data encryption solution as an alternative to Oracle's TDE offering.

Fully-function trial downloads of the Encryption Wizard for Oracle are available at: http://www.relationalwizards.com/html/oracle_encryption.html.
