Two dedicated teams from IT recruitment firm, IntaPeople, have successfully scaled three of the highest mountains in Wales in just one day.

The teams, each comprising of four staff members from IT, Technical & Engineering recruitment consultancy recently embarked on the GEAES Welsh 3 Peaks challenge, scaling Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-Y-Fan in less than 14 hours, whilst raising in excess of £2,200 in aid of Ty Hafan – the family hospice for young lives.

The teams started their journey at 4.10am from Pen-y-Pass, and successfully ascended and descended Snowdon by 7.00am, before moving on to tackle the mighty Cadair Idris, and finally onto Pen-Y-Fan. Covering a distance of over 20 miles and ascending some 9,400ft, each team completed the challenge within minutes of each other, coming in at 13hrs 56mins and 13hrs 58mins respectively (including 6 hours travel time).

IntaPeople’s Operations Director, Phil Handley, said:

“The fantastic work that Tw Hafan carries out is widely recognised across Wales, so it was great that we were able to help by completing this challenge on their behalf. All of the staff members that took part did so to help raise much-needed funds for a fabulous cause.

“Taking our endurance and energy stores to the limit, it was great to witness the teamwork and co-operation between us, and I was doubly surprised to see everyone bright and cheerful, if not a little stiff and sore, when back at work on Monday morning.

“Everyone who took part in the event enjoyed the day, and some are already talking about taking part in next year’s event.”
