1GOAL Rallying World Cup Footballers and Fans to Help 72 Million Out-of-School Children Get an Education

“Stardoll is delighted to support 1GOAL and its mission to make education a reality for the millions of children who are currently denied this basic human right,” said Chris Seth, EVP of International at Stardoll.

Stardoll, the world’s largest online entertainment site for teenagers focused on fame, fashion and friends today announced its support for 1GOAL.

1GOAL is an initiative seizing the power of football. FIFA, world leaders and famous footballers across the world have joined hands in a campaign to bring attention to the plight of 72 million children across the globe who currently have no access to education.

In support of 1GOAL, Stardoll established a World Cup area on the site where members are introduced to the campaign and receive a virtual version of the 1GOAL T-shirt in their suite. To date, an astounding 95,000 members have participated and joined 1GOAL in less than two weeks.

Stardoll also included Grammy award winning artist and 1GOAL Ambassador Shakira who last month issued a YouTube challenge to 1song, 1dance, 1GOAL, (http://www.join1goal.org) advocates and World Cup athletes and fans. “Can you do the Waka Waka?” She requested everyone to record their dance and post it as a sign of support to help all children attend school and get the education they deserve.

“We are thrilled to see the level of support from Stardoll teens in rallying around 1GOAL,” said Chris Ward, Digital Communications Director at 1GOAL. “Every bit helps in this important initiative to make the children around the world and in Africa the real winners of this years FIFA World Cup and Stardoll is definitely helping to make that a reality.”

“Stardoll is delighted to support 1GOAL and its mission to make education a reality for the millions of children who are currently denied this basic human right,” said Chris Seth, EVP of International at Stardoll. “The 1GOAL message has truly resonated with our members, who have indicated their support by creating over 100,000 World Cup scenes in less than two weeks. It’s unprecedented to have so many members engage with a cause so quickly.”
