Davis Elen Advertising (Davis Elen), one of the largest independently owned advertising agencies in Southern California, today announced that it has been given an Outstanding Achievement in Website Development award by the Interactive Media Awards™ (IMA) for its work on the “Dolby: Emotion of Sound” website.

Davis Elen Advertising (Davis Elen), one of the largest independently owned advertising agencies in Southern California, today announced that it has been given an Outstanding Achievement in Website Development award by the Interactive Media Awards™ (IMA) for its work on the “Dolby: Emotion of Sound” website. The honor recognizes that the project met and surpassed the standards of excellence in the Consumer Goods Category that comprise the web’s most innovative work.

In October 2009 Davis Elen formalized its accumulated two-and-a-half years of online marketing expertise with the creation of Davis Elen Interactive, or “DEI,” to brand its already strong creative presence in the online marketplace. One of DEI’s initial projects was Dolby’s Emotion of Sound campaign, which was launched in 2009 to generate awareness of the essential role sound plays in entertainment today while highlighting the many different ways consumers can experience a great Dolby Surround Sound experience.

Playing off of the campaign theme, Davis Elen’s Interactive division, DEI, created an immersive branded takeover of the Fandango.com homepage for Dolby, providing a first-of-its-kind rich media environment, which prompted visitors to “Test Their Audio Intensity” via their computer microphones. By directly interacting with the sound experience embedded in the Fandango.com site, users controlled the aspect ratio of the entire webpage by raising or lowering their own vocal decibel levels to deliver a visual effect of the audio emotion in their voice.
