Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) June 22, 2010

SwiftTest Inc., a developer of powerful and efficient commercial IP network testing tools and solutions, announced today that it is shipping their new SwiftTest 5000. The new device complements their existing flagship product, the SwiftTest 3000. The SwiftTest 5000 supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet traffic, whereas the SwiftTest 3000 is a Gigabit Ethernet device. The expansion of the product line caters to equipment vendors, service providers, and enterprises that need larger through-put and need to test under heavier loads. SwiftTest aims to bring technologies to a variety of environments with increasing flexibility, so that customers can choose the system that best fits their product line or testing needs.

The differentiating features of the SwiftTest 5000 include two 10GE test ports plus one 1GE management port. It generates up to 30Gbps full-duplex traffic with millions of simulated concurrent users. The wide range of supported protocols is a key benefit of SwiftTest products. The SwiftTest 5000 supports CIFS/SMB, NFS, and iSCSI, with NTLM and Kerberos authentication.

Not only a hardware platform, the SwiftTest 5000 features a graphical interface, the SwiftTest Test Development Environment, for easy test configuration, that includes sample tests and wizards to accelerate test development. The application enables creation of tests across protocols with fast parameter changes and reconfiguration to quickly run and rerun tests. Real-time results reporting and granular statistics help identify performance bottlenecks and isolate problems so fixes can be implemented quickly.

“The SwiftTest 5000 allows us to keep pace with the growth of 10GE datacenter networks and support companies developing 10GE storage devices,” said Alan Newman, VP of Marketing at SwiftTest. “With the SwiftTest 5000, we’re perfectly positioned to help companies who are driving 10GE adoption get their products to market.”

“It's clear that 10GE is the emerging standard for datacenter networks, and with the SwiftTest 5000 now shipping, SwiftTest is at the forefront of providing test tools for new 10GE storage devices,” said Olga Yashkova, Industry Analyst, Frost & Sullivan. “They're filling a need early in the game and look to be an essential partner to test teams who are driving the new standard.”

“Our intention is to continue to broaden the appeal of our products while maintaining focus and quality of our core technology,” adds Alan. “Along with growth of 10GE, we’re finding that the variety of requirements in test environments out there is growing, with more innovative products and increasing traffic demands—not only in storage, but in global networking.”

The SwiftTest 5000 is available thorough the sales team at SwiftTest, who regularly schedule live demos to show features and provide hands-on operational tours. Visit http://www.swifttest.com for technical specifications and further detail.
