Redline Communications Group Inc. (“Redline”) (TSX: RDL), a leading global provider of secure wireless broadband infrastructure products, today announced the successful completion of a major development project involving its RedMAX™ WiMAX product family. A Redline customer required major modifications to the product to meet its unique operational requirements, and a Redline project team in Romania accepted the challenge to do the development and accelerate the customer’s aggressive time-to-market objectives. In just over six months, specially-tailored units are now in field trials and performing well.
“We take pride in our ability to respond quickly to all our customers with finely-tuned solutions that can adapt our products to the complexities and rigors of any operating environment, and this project was no exception,” said Eric Melka Acting CEO, Redline Communications. “We applaud the talented and dedicated engineers who came together and completed this project in record time
That project team is now being disbanded and one R&D location in Romania closing as a result. Redline continues to move towards consolidating R&D operations at the Company’s headquarters in Markham, ON, Canada. A core group of the Romanian engineers will remain with the company to provide ongoing support but a total of 43 people have been released, all but one of those employees based in Romania.
