Road Inform will once again serve the community this summer on weekends with traffic alerts and updates on the roads to and from the Catskills Mountains.

It began in 2005 between friends as a means of updating each other on the traffic conditions to and from the Catskill Mountains. Recognizing the potential this information would benefit to others, Road Inform created a master operational headquarters for providing current traffic updates. Thus Road Inform evolved into a revolutionary sophisticated service by 2006.

Through the summer months, the personnel at Road Inform integrate information obtained primarily from commuters, and man media outlets and traffic cameras, among various other sources. Compiling these facts in a professional and orderly fashion, it is then broadcast via four venues: info-line, text messaging, mobile site, and twitter.

In addition to providing current traffic reports, Road Inform also offers alternate routes in the event of mishaps on the road.

By 2009, members receiving text message alerts had exceeded 6,000. Members utilizing the info-line exceeded 25,000 per weekend.

With it’s inception of a mobile site this summer, which can easily be accessed by visiting http://m.roadinform.com on a mobile browser, Road Inform staffers are confident that they have incorporated all means of communicating with travelers. Additionally, Road Inform traffic alerts are posted on http://www.vosizneias.com.

To listen to Road Inform traffic reports dial 1-212-444-1100, Option #7.

To sign up for text message alerts visit http://www.roadinform.com. For advertising opportunities, contact us at http://www.roadinform.com/contact.asp or call 1-347-688-7623.

Road inform remains committed to providing the community with an informative and smooth commute through the months of July and August.
