Mentum, an international asset management company, has gone live with SunGard's Stream Clearvision middle-office matching and allocation system and SunGard's Stream Ubix back-office system for listed derivatives in a hosted, application service provider (ASP) environment. Mentum uses these integrated SunGard solutions to automate clearing and reporting processes for trades undertaken on several commodity exchanges, including the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Together, SunGard’s Stream Clearvision and Stream Ubix solutions help Mentum automate middle- and back-office processing of group and investor activity. The combined platform also helps Mentum validate the reconciliation of its cleared orders and ensure the accuracy of fees applied to trades. Finally, the solutions help Mentum enhance its client reporting processes.
Danny Chart, chief operating officer at Mentum, said, “Thanks to SunGard’s Stream Clearvision and Stream Ubix solutions, our investors will be given accurate and timely reporting information. The systems' integrated functionality helps us optimize the processing and management of our managed account products, and will also help us in the future as our business evolves. Outsourcing our IT infrastructure helps us increase our efficiency, reduce our maintenance costs and focus on our trading activities and risk management responsibilities.”
Yassine Brahim, president of SunGard’s global trading business, said, “SunGard continues to expand its Stream Clearvision and Stream Ubix capabilities to help provide financial institutions with more instrument and market compatibility. Our post-trade solutions are proven to assist brokers as well as asset managers such as Mentum with the automation of clearing and settlement processes for commodity trading on LME and other commodity exchanges. In addition, our hosting services help firms focus their resources and time on their core businesses."
