Eucalyptus Systems, a leading provider of private cloud infrastructure solutions, announced today that it has become a member of the HP Developer & Solutions Partner Program (DSPP).

The DSPP is designed to enable independent software vendors (ISVs), systems integrators, developers and consultants to work collaboratively to more effectively address customer needs. Eucalyptus is leveraging HP resources to deliver best-of-breed Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions. As a member of the HP DSPP, Eucalyptus will work closely with HP to leverage the necessary resources, experience and knowledge to deliver tailor-made solutions that drive better business value.

Eucalyptus provides an open source software infrastructure for implementing private cloud computing using an organization's own IT infrastructure, without modification, special-purpose hardware or reconfiguration. Eucalyptus allows customers to deploy Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) while maintaining their existing environment with no additional capital expense and reduced operating expense. With Eucalyptus, businesses of any size can leverage their own IT resources to get the benefits of cloud computing without the concerns of lock-in, security ambiguity and unexpected storage costs that can be associated with public clouds.

"Eucalyptus has seen tremendous growth in the last year and we view our relationship with HP as a great step in increasing Eucalyptus adoption in 2010," said Matt Reid, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Eucalyptus Systems. "As a result of Eucalyptus joining the HP DSPP, customers will be able to implement our private cloud technology on HP computing and storage hardware that has been verified to deliver an optimal end-user experience. Leveraging HP technology fits seamlessly into our strategy of providing data centers around the world with a packaged cloud solution that can be easily deployed."

"The HP DSPP gives ISVs, SIs, and consultants access to HP's worldwide community along with tools to help them create competitive advantages and grow their business," said Kristy Ward, worldwide marketing and business development manager, Developer and Solution Partner Program, HP. "With access to the solutions, services and expertise offered through the DSPP, Eucalyptus Systems can more easily develop and market offerings that work with HP's Enterprise Business portfolio."
