Foundation Supports Women Through Transitions of Divorce and Widowhood with Legal, Financial and Educational Advocacy.

"Women feel lost and alone as they navigate these painful and frightening transitions"

Wildflower Women's Foundation, a unique, newly created nonprofit, assists women and families through the transitions of divorce and widowhood. It was created by women who have experienced this life passage, to support women with compassion and mentoring as they make this difficult journey.

On average, women experiencing a divorce take a drastic reduction in their economic status and are under served in handling the unique challenges presented to their families. Women are frequently the primary care givers for the children, and their diminished financial position compounds the stress the family undergoes.

The 2009 Harvard study of The Joint Center for Housing reported that women in transition are a rapidly growing demographic. The number of households led by single women increased by almost 10 million, from 1980 to 2000.

"Women feel lost and alone as they navigate through these painful and frightening transitions," said Wildflower Women's founder, Joan Rogliano. The Foundation's mission is to offer financial, legal and educational advocacy. It also provides mentoring and resources to address both immediate and long term needs and goals of these families.

The Wildflower Women's Foundation premier fund raising event, A Celebration of Women in Transition, will be held Saturday, September 11th, 2010, at the Denver Botanic Gardens, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Debra Fine, internationally known speaker and author, will present the keynote address. The day will be filled with networking, information about nutrition, finances, finding clarity, and personal style.

Tickets are $75.00 and include a catered lunch, admission to The Denver Botanic Gardens, door prizes and silent auction.
